1.) Create a continuously evolved and accessible destination for web communications, guidelines and best practices at Prudential Financial.
SHORTEN TRAINING PERIODS: Shorten on-boarding training periods for new product design employees. New joiners can access information all in one web based resource.
SHORTEN DEVELOPMENT TIME: Directly accessible library of expertly developed patterns that can be used to build new products instead of starting from scratch.
DECREASE VENDOR SPEND: Vendors can focus on new features or components building upon what is existing.
INCREASE CONSISTENCY: By using the Evolution to anchor all core experience design we can increase consistency for users accessing information and have better familiarity with the brand.
REPLACE OUR ORIGINAL DESIGN SYSTEM “PLAYBOOK”: The original design system is great but outdated. We want to build a living breathing design system that helps Product designers, Software Engineers, Copywriters, and the marketing team.
RESEARCH: We conducted Research completing stakeholder interviews, gathered market research, conducted user interviews and completed competitive analysis in the marketplace.
IDEATION: My team and I conducted brainstorming sessions, participatory workshops and storyboarding to organize the resource and team goals.
DESIGN: Sitemap iterations, paper prototyping, wire-framing, higher fidelity interactive click prototypes in InVision for testing. Content Inventory, Stand-up new CMS, Standup new Markup strategies for using templates.
2.) The resource came to be called the "Evolution" and serves a broad audience of product designers, marketers, writers and developers.
Evolution is still under way to be fully launched to the public, but since its Beta launch it has been a huge success. Adopted by all Prudential Financial business units and corporate centers as the standard destination for building digital products.
All employees can learn from the Evolution as part of on-boarding and get quickly up to speed understanding product and brand details.
